We would like to welcome your school to the 2009 A-AA Lower State Wrestling Championships. Aynor High School is very proud to be the host school for this year’s A-AA Lower State Qualifier. Our coaches and administrators have worked hard all year to prepare for this event and are very excited about helping showcase the best A-AA lower state wrestlers in South Carolina. Below is general information about the tournament and the seeding meeting. I am asking that you respond via email Jmorello@horrycountyschools.net or my cell (843-995-3611) as to whether you plan on attending the seeding meeting or merely sending in your information. Please respond by Monday February 16^th so that I can adjust the morning breakfast to be served to that approximate number.

Seeding Meeting: The seeding meeting will take place at Aynor High School on February 18^th at 9:00 a.m. I am requesting that each coach fill out the team information sheet and return via email to me by February 16th at 5:00 pm. This is so I can prepare each wrestler’s name by weight class and school in a way that will assist tremendously in cutting down the amount of time needed for the meeting. COACHES MUST HAVE WRESTLERS NAMES, WEIGHTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS BEFORE SEEDING MEETING STARTS!

Seeding Criteria: This is the proposed baseline seeding criteria that will be used for seeding wrestlers. This criterion will start at the top with head to head and work its way down. This is again a proposed criterion, we the coaches as a whole may vote to alter or amend this criterion prior to the seeding meeting beginning. *In the event of a tie we will look to victories over common opponents followed by most pins. We will seed all wrestlers with a winning record and draw the remaining wrestlers in via blind draw.

Entry Fee: According to section 7 d in the SCHSL AA Handbook a fee of $50 will be paid to the host school. Please make out checks payable to Aynor High School.

Spectator Fee: As per the SCHSL the entry fee for the Lower State Championships will be $6 per day.

Concessions: A full concession stand will be available Friday and Saturday.

Hospitality Room: A hospitality room will be available for the athletic directors, coaches and referees only. The hospitality room is designed to cater to the above mentioned and abuse by any school or individual will not be tolerated. Admission to the hospitality room will warrant a wristband. We look forward to serving you in every way possible and anticipate this being one of the best hospitality rooms in the state.

Coolers: Coolers will be allowed but not inside gymnasium to allow for maximum athlete and spectator space. There will be space provided for teams to set-up coolers outside gymnasium.

Tournament set-up: The tournament will be run on 3 regulation high school wrestling mats. A 4^th wrestling mat in a separate gymnasium will be available for warm-up only. Coaches meeting will follow weigh ins approximately 5:30. Opening ceremonies will be held at 6:00.

Wrestling begins 6:10 pm.

Weigh ins: Weigh ins will take place in the mini-gym. The following weigh in time will be used.

Friday: 4:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am

Locker Rooms: Locker rooms will be available for wrestlers to change clothes. We recommend that wrestlers do not keep their gear inside locker room. There will be a secured room for coaches to put their gear.

Vandalism: Vandalism will NOT be tolerated and those person(s) found damaging school or personal property will be held accountable.

T-shirts: T-shirts will be sold

Programs: Programs will be sold

Hotels: The following is a list of hotels with the first being the first one I would choose as a coach and the second and so on. The prices listed include a discount of at least 10%. Please mention that you are staying because of the wrestling tournament.
